There are two types of shrubs called Rock Rose, CISTUS that can grow up to six foot high and HELIANTHEMUM that only grow to between 6-9 inches. The flowers of both look very similar and only last a couple of days.

Yes this is the alpine Helianthemum. I have a lot of cement rubble in the soil unfortunately. Rock roses and pinks are partial to alkaline so they dont mind.
Cistus is a beautiful plant too.

Hi, I have got a white flowered Cistus, it is beautiful at the moment, just full of flowers. Unfortunately todays' wind has blown them away!
When I started my own gardening blog a few weeks ago I had no idea that I would be joining such a large and informative community.
So many great photo's, I need to get out there and take some more. I will visit as many blogs as I can and hope to form links.
I am really interested in attracting wildlife into the garden.
