Hi -- well quite a kind day today .I managed to get all the lawns cut, and some of the edges too ! There are still a lot of butterflies about, especially speckled wood.
Yesterday I planted lots of bulbs from Aldi`s ,for cutting, mainly tulps and anemone de caen. So cheap- cant believe it .
Japenese onions are ready to go in tomorrow, and winter salad.Lots of my cuttings have rooted -- so was potting on too. Still lots of colour from Michs . echinacea, J.anemone, salvias etc. Salvia Patens "Oxford Blue" is paticularly lovely this year.
there is a lot of clearing to do-- ready for winter ! Brr .
Enjoy whats left of the gardening year.
Cheers P.F.

autumnal.
gardens' bed time!
It is starting to be chilly mornings and evenings. I have started the process of shutting down the garden. The tomato plants are "going over", the bushes need re-shaping. I have a lot of trees and bushes, not to say Bonsai Trees that need packing into boxes for the winter, so it will take me some time to have done it all, but I have made a start.
catching up !
Well at last we have had 2 days when I can garden, so many jobs to catch up on. So did a lot yesterday , and today I am pleasing myself .
Just moving variuos things , and taking cuttings, dead heading etc . What I really want is 3or4 days of sun to ripen some seeds, at the moment they are just much --lol.
I could do with a cutting of Geranium Pointyfingrus , -- really like it.Thanks for the series on vertical gardens-- wuold love to try.
Its feeling very Autumnal here ------ far too early ! Ah well !
Cheers P.F.
Season of Fruits , and all that .
Hi ,first of September!
Well at the weekend my G.children came and picked the wild plums in my garden, must have picked about 2 or 3 stones. So its time to get the jam pan out again .
Lots of Autumn colour in the garden, helianthus, rudbeckia, sunflowers, asters, crocosmia, and lots of cosmosand other things . I also have some very lovely perennial Salvias, one of my favorites, tho I loath the annual ones .
I have also lifted all the potatoes, Anya , and Una.pac choy is up , need to thin and transplant .
Enjoy your day.
Cheers P.F.
